Toughest Malmö is where the series started in 2013, and it remains the biggest and most popular event on the calendar. The 8 km main race runs along Ribersborg, the long beach park on the Öresund shoreline, so the course is flat, fast and heavy on mud, sand and water obstacles rather than climbing. It is the fastest Toughest course and the best one for a personal best.
The main race and Double Distance add-on (two laps, about 16 km) run on the Saturday, with Xplore (4 km, untimed) and Family (2 km) on the Sunday. Malmö draws the largest crowds of the season and has a genuine festival atmosphere around the finish area.
Ribersborg is a 20-minute walk or a short bus ride from Malmö Central, and Copenhagen Airport is about 25 minutes away by train across the Öresund bridge — comfortably the easiest Toughest race to reach from outside Scandinavia.
