Gladiator Race Český ráj runs from the Komárovský pond in the Bohemian Paradise sandstone region, an hour and a half north-east of Prague. The running is flat and fast on sandy tracks between pine woods and sandstone towers, and this venue is known across the Czech scene for the sheer number of water obstacles — expect to be swimming, not just splashing. There is plenty of climbing, carrying, monkey bars and rope-net work in between.
The RUN course (4+ km, 20+ obstacles) and the KIDS races are on Saturday, both with an interval start. Sunday belongs to the Eleven trail races (6 km, 11.5 km and 21 km) and canicross, so it is worth booking the weekend rather than the day.
