True Grit QLD is held at Kooralbyn in the Scenic Rim, about an hour and a quarter south of Brisbane and the same distance inland from the Gold Coast. The valley setting gives a course with real climbing in it, and Kooralbyn carries the full obstacle set including the Sandbag Carry, Cargo, Inclination and The Big Climb.
Two distances on the Saturday: 5 km (12+) and the classic 10 km (16+). The 10 km Elite wave goes out first at 8:30am, timed, with podium places for the top three men and women and a 20-burpee penalty for every obstacle failed or skipped.
On-site unpowered camping is available and can be added during registration, with toilets and hot showers for campers and dogs allowed on a lead. Parking is $10 per vehicle.
