True Grit Barossa 2026

True Grit's first ever visit to the Barossa, staged at Barossa Helicopters just outside Lyndoch in South Australia's best-known wine region. The course runs over open paddocks and the rolling ground behind the airfield, with the usual True Grit military-inspired obstacle set built into it: A Frame, Traverse Ropes, Monkey Bars, The Wall, Rope Up, Pontoon Bridges, a Sandbag Carry and The Big Climb.

Two distances run across both Saturday and Sunday: 5 km (12+, walkable in a couple of hours) and the classic 10 km (16+). Waves go out every five minutes, and solo entrants can join a Black Dog Wave to tackle the course with other Gritters rather than alone.

Lyndoch is about an hour's drive from Adelaide, so a day trip works, but the Barossa cellar doors make it an easy weekend. Parking on site is $10 per car, bag drop is $3, and spectators are free but need to register.
