Toughest Gothenburg is the mud race of the Swedish calendar. The 8 km main race starts on the fast open fields of Kviberg Park, a former military barracks turned sports complex, then heads into the rough hills and unmanaged woodland behind it. Kviberg is best known for its Mud Land sections, and it delivers them reliably — this is the Toughest stop to pick if you want to finish genuinely filthy.
The weekend runs the main race and the Double Distance add-on (two laps, roughly 16 km) on the Saturday, with Xplore (4 km, untimed) and Family (2 km) on the Sunday. Terrain is mixed rather than mountainous: flat and quick across the park, then steep and technical in the hills, which makes it friendlier than Sälen or Oslo without being easy.
Kviberg is about 15 minutes by tram from Gothenburg city centre, so no car is needed and city accommodation works fine.
