Savage Race Cancels Most 2026 Events
Savage Race has announced a significant reduction to their 2026 race schedule, canceling 10 events to focus on three flagship races.
What's Happening
After careful consideration, Savage Race has decided to consolidate their 2026 schedule to deliver stronger events and treat athletes responsibly. The decision reflects the challenges of operating a full national schedule at their current scale.
Events Still Happening
Three flagship events will proceed as scheduled:
- Savage Race Florida Spring - March 7, 2026 (Dade City, FL)
- Savage Race Georgia Fall - September 19, 2026 (Dallas, GA)
- Savage Race Florida Fall - November 14, 2026 (Dade City, FL)
Canceled Events
The following 2026 events have been canceled:
- Savage Race Georgia Spring (Dallas, GA) - March 28, 2026
- Savage Race North Florida (Gainesville) - April 18, 2026
- Savage Race Mid-Atlantic Spring (Maryland) - May 9, 2026
- Savage Race Charlotte - June 6, 2026
- Savage Race Ohio - June 27, 2026
- Savage Race Chicago - July 11, 2026
- Savage Race New England (Boston) - August 2026
- Savage Race Poconos (Pennsylvania) - August 15, 2026
- Savage Race Mid-Atlantic Fall (Maryland) - September 5, 2026
- Savage Race Dallas, TX - October 10, 2026
Options for Registered Athletes
If you're registered for a canceled event, you have three options:
Option A: Transfer to a Savage Race Event Transfer to Florida Spring, Georgia Fall, or Florida Fall. Bonus: receive a complimentary Bring-a-Friend entry.
Option B: Transfer to Spartan or Tough Mudder Transfer to a Spartan Race or Tough Mudder event, subject to availability.
Option C: Full Refund Request a full refund of your registration.
Athletes can make their selection on the Savage Race website. If no selection is made by the deadline, registrations default to a full refund.
Looking Forward
While this is disappointing news for the OCR community, the remaining three events should deliver a strong Savage Race experience. For athletes looking for alternatives, both Spartan Race and Tough Mudder offer events throughout the year.
